Friday Photo Shoot Out - Aged & Weathered

This latern was given to us a long time ago and although we have never used it, I am sure it would still work. My first thought for this topic was to take a picture of myself to post but I am sure someone else has already done that. I carried my camera around with me for a week and this is all I came up with. PITIFUL!!

  1. When you have one great shot, that's all you need, Sandy. I'd love to have that lantern!

  2. We need a serious sister-in-law talk. You are really being too hard on yourself. I like your idea.

  4. I love old lanterns. I have a collection of them that I use as a window treatment hanging from shaker pegs across the top of the window...I think I could find a peg for this one too. ;)

  5. It's a nice lantern, properly aged and weathered. I hope you light it tonight. You had more luck than me - I went out with a mission and discovered it had been paved over. No time left!

One good shot is worth more than pages and pages of nonsense!

  9. We are always glad to have one of those old lanterns in our worst "hurricane" weather when the lights are inevitably out.

  10. That is so funny! I thought of posting a pic of myself too!
The lantern is great. Imagine if we still depended on that today!!! Yikes!
While camping, that lamp is what draws people together!

  11. Neat shot. I didn't get the shots I wanted, either, due to a flat tire, but we participated so that's what counts!

  12. My grand dad had hurricane lamps. I have not seen it since I was a kid. You lantern is slightly different, but certainly aged.

  13. the laturn is great - we actually have one we use when the lights go out during a storm and when we take guests to the wine cellar for wine and cheese, try using it, great atmosphere.

  14. I am guessing that lantern would have many stories to share if it could talk. A picture paints a thousand words, thank you for one shot perfection.
